Toronto mandates green roofs
I posted about this a while back, and today saw that the Toronto city council passed a resolution to mandate green roofs on a variety of newly constructed buildings. In passing the new bylaw, Toronto has become the first North American city to require green roofs. Definitely a productive and progressive first step, and I'm excited to see what happens in the U.S. in the coming years -- there's already a movement brewing in Brooklyn!
